A decade ago, my own health began to decline, ultimately leading to a devastating advanced cancer diagnosis in 2019.

The prescribed treatments meant to help, instead took a heavy toll on my entire being. The tumor initially responded however reemerged more aggressively within a matter of months.

I felt out of options and on the verge of giving up.

In the end, major surgery was unavoidable. What followed was a long, difficult journey back to health.

Two things kept me going; my faith and a belief that if I could recover from everything I had endured, perhaps I could help others.
One question remained – how?

Determined to find answers beyond traditional Western medicine practices, I returned to school and immersed myself in the study of holistic, natural, and functional approaches to health and real healing.

HealThy Self was born in 2022. The vision is to support those who are suffering, discouraged, and seeking real health guidance. The mission is to help clients uncover a better way to heal their bodies, prevent disease and experience lasting wellness.

I am returning to the true Latin root of the word doctor – docere, meaning “to teach”- a reminder that my role is to educate not treat.

Healing is possible – I know because I’ve lived it.
